About this abaya
Laila is night, and this abaya plays black against black. Leaves cut from a glossy fabric are appliquéd over the shoulders and down the sleeves, linked by vines of tiny black beads, so the pattern only appears when the light catches it.
A line of crystal beads runs the full length of the button-through front. The skirt is cut full, and the sleeves are deep and wide. It is the piece for weddings and dinners when you want detail without colour.
